DIMAPUR — Nagaland body builder T Moakumzuk Ozukum won three medals in different categories at the National Physique Committee (NPC) Championship 2024 held at Rajasthan Agricultural Research Institute, Jaipur, on May 26.

The 37-year-old body builder won a silver medal and a trophy in senior open men’s physique category, bronze medal and trophy in senior body building (light heavy weight division), and another bronze and trophy in senior open classic physique category, at the championship.

Speaking to Eastern Mirror, Ozukum said, “I feel excited and delighted winning the medals and trophies.”

He disclosed that he was the lone athlete from Nagaland at the one-day NPC championship in Jaipur, which saw participants from various states competing to win the titles.

Further, he shared that he is planning to compete in an upcoming international show called ‘Sheru classic’, besides the “Warrior classic” to be held in Nagaland.

Expressing gratitude to his coach Siddhant Jaiswal for being there physically to support him during the just concluded NPC championship, he said it “made a big difference”.

He also thanked his parents and sister for their constant support, including financial help, describing them as his greatest strength and motivators.

It may be mentioned that Ozukum, who has been continuously working out since 2013, won a silver medal and trophy at the NPC Assam two weeks ago, before going on to put up an impressive show at the championship in Jaipur.

He had won Mr. Nagaland title twice -- in 2018 and 2019.
