FAN to host Nagaland Film Festival at RCEMPA
KOHIMA — The fourth edition of Nagaland Film Festival will be held on December 7 and 8 at RCEMPA in Jotsoma village on the theme “Frames of harmony.”
The Nagaland Film Festival is being organised by Film Association of Nagaland (FAN), in collaboration with Nagaland government, as part of the Hornbill Festival. The festival promises a diverse cinematic experience with free entry for all.
This was disclosed by the director of film festival, Sesino Yhoshu following a meeting on Saturday. She informed the festival would feature two screening sessions.
The first day of the festival will witness screening of films from the Northeast including ‘Nocturnal Burger,’ ‘Tora’s Husband,’ ‘Epicnium,’ ‘Myth,’ and ‘Our Home’ followed with a master class led by Nancy Nisa Beso on the topic ‘Breaking into the film industry.’
It will be followed with a workshop on “Who else will sing our songs,? a re-crafting documentary film by Moji Riba including featured films like ‘The song of flying leaves’ by Prakash and ‘Brink of tears’ by Gundermann.
On day-two, screening of films from the Northeast would include ‘A star is born,’ ‘Big eyed pig’s last memories,’ ‘Andro dreams,’ and ‘Just like our grandmothers.’
A discussion on “Cinema as a bridge: Uniting diverse voices through films,” featuring panelists like Sophy Lasuh, Utpal Bhojpuri, Sunzu, Pradip Kurbah and Moji Riba would follow.
The second day would be marked with a workshop on “The art of colour grading,” by Hadwt Baglari, which would be followed by screening of films like ‘Our mother grandmother prime minister Sirimavo,’ ‘Guras,’ and ‘Kaddischfüreinen Freund.’
When queried if there are any films from Nagaland, Vileno Tase, an executive member of FAN, informed Eastern Mirror that two films namely ‘Epicnium’ directed by Maipangnok Longkumer and ‘Just like our grandmothers’ directed by Chentei Khiamniungan are significant contributions from the state.
