DIMAPUR — The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has issued a directive to its federating units, urging them to implement heightened security measures in light of the ongoing political instability in Bangladesh.

In a directive issued on Monday, the student body expressed concern over the possible influx of refugees due to the prevailing situation, which could pose a threat to regional stability.

Calling for immediate activation of all security measures, including intensified checks at Inner Line Permit (ILP) gates and increased vigilance against any unusual activity within their jurisdictions, the federation called upon its units to take immediate action.

Furthermore, it appealed to the deputy commissioners of the six eastern districts — Tuensang, Mon, Longleng, Kiphire, Shamator, and Noklak — to direct village councils to monitor and report any instances of illegal immigration or unusual movements.

It also emphasised the need for heightened vigilance and proactive measures from local authorities and community leaders to address the potential challenges posed by illegal immigration.
