Draft electoral roll published for 59 constituencies in Nagaland

DIMAPUR — Nagaland, with the exception of 43-Tapi (ST) Assembly Constituency, has a total of 1297573 electors as per the draft photo electoral roll published for the other 59 constituencies by the respective Electoral Registration Officers.

The revision activities have been suspended in 43-Tapi AC in view of the bye-election scheduled on November 7, informed a press release from the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland on Friday.

The final photo electoral roll will be published on January 10, 2024.

As per the draft roll, the electors-population (EP) ratio of the state is 534 and the gender ratio stands at 1000 males: 1005 females. There are 651041 male electors out of which 7719 are service voters and 646532 female electors of which 107 are service electors.

The period for filing claims and objections will be from October 27, 2023, to December 12, 2023, the press release informed. Special camps will be held in all the polling stations on November 3 and 4 and on November 17 and 18, it added.

Citizens can file claims and objections with the concerned Booth Level Officer or with the AERO and ERO. Forms are available for download on ECI and CEO’s website. Online applications can also be filed/submitted online through voters.eci.gov.in (links are provided on the ECI and CEO’s website) or mobile app – VHA (voter helpline app) which is available for download in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, it said.
