DIMAPUR —The Peren district planning and development board (DPDB) on Friday felicitated HSLC and HSSLC toppers namely Asmita Mukherjee (top 11 and subject topper), Rebika Tamang (subject topper) and Nambagwangle (recipient of Governor’s Award for government school) during its monthly meeting held at the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office under the chairmanship of the deputy chief minister, TR Zeliang.
The deputy chief minister also felicitated Asenla Pongen, principal of Government Higher Secondary School, Jalukie, for her excellent service in consistently achieving above average pass percentage in HSLC exams, stated a DIPR report.
Zeliang congratulated the students and reminded that success is not merely measured by marks and ranks, but by the growth they have experienced and the knowledge they have gained.
He also acknowledged the dedicated faculty and the respective institutions since their commitment to nurturing and educating the students has been exemplary. To the parents and guardians, he stated that their unwavering support and belief in their children have played a pivotal role in their success. He appreciated them for being the pillars of their children strength, guiding them through their academic journey and instilling in them the values of hard work and resilience.
Zeliang further encouraged the students to be bold, curious and most importantly be kind and humble and carry forward the spirit of excellence and make a positive impact wherever they go.
During the board meeting, the members discussed on extension of land patta cancellation at Peren New headquarters and decided to extend the deadline till December 2024.
The members have also approved the proposals for construction of water reservoirs at Peren New headquarters and setting up of SDRF personnel in Peren district, which was forwarded to the higher ups for necessary action.
The house also discussed on banning hunting at Peren New headquarters, wherein the DC agreed to issue an order in this regard.
Meanwhile, the house also reconstituted LADP verification committee for 6-Tening and 7-Peren ACs.
For Tening AC, the ADC of Tening has appointed as convener along with SDO of PWD (R&B), Tening, and BDO of Tening as members, while for Peren AC, the ADC of Jalukie has been appointed as convener along with SDO of PWD (R&B), Jalukie, and BDO of Peren as members.
Report stated that the executive engineer of PHED, Bursenla Ao made a detailed powerpoint presentation on the status of water supply at Peren town and Peren new headquarters.
