Diphu, Aug. 31 (EMN): The newly appointed president of Greater Diphu Bazaar Committee (GDBC), Pradip Engleng has asked social organisations not to go for donation drives from shop owners and businessmen at Diphu market.

Engleng was appointed as the president of GDBC by Town and Country Planning under the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council on August 6.

‘We have discussed the matter in GDBC and have made an announcement that no social organisations before permission from GDBC can go for donation drives from shop owners and businessmen. Unless there is permission from GDBC, you cannot only go for a donation drive’, he said.

He also said the first round of meetings will be held regarding giving revenue to KAAC by GDBC. The GDBC has started checking the licenses of business persons, whether they possess  trading licenses or not.
