Diphupar organisations condemn kidnapping attempt by NSCN (R)
DIMAPUR — Diphupar Village Council (DVC), Diphupar Naga Youth Organisation (DNYO), and Diphupar Naga Women Organisation (DNWO) condemned the act of the cadres of Wangtin-led NSCN (R), who allegedly forcefully entered the residence of one Vikheho Assumi with the motive of kidnapping and extorting him.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, the organisations stated that the cadres allegedly were armed and, upon discovering Assumi’s absence, harassed and threatened his family.
Maintaining that Assumi is a bona fide citizen of Diphupar who runs a legal business, the DVC, DNYO, and DNWO stated that such despicable acts of extortion, kidnapping, and terrorising the victim and his family must be condemned by every right-thinking citizen. They demanded that these abhorrent activities be thoroughly investigated and that the perpetrators be punished according to the law.
They also stated that Diphupar is a mini Nagaland where unity, peace, and harmony prevail, and no miscreants should be allowed to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of the village.
They cautioned that any anti-social activities committed within the village shall not be tolerated, and stern action will be taken against those responsible according to the village’s laws.
