DIMAPUR — Dimapur police has arrested five persons associated with the recently floated civil body called Nagaland Transparency, Public Rights Advocacy and Direct Action Organisation (NTPRADAO) for threatening to set the official quarters of Nagaland legislators on fire if the state Assembly passes a bill in support of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).
In a circular issued on June 29, a month after its formation was announced, the NTPRADAO had stated that it along with “its 3 (three) thousand plus members from all over 16 districts of Nagaland shall be compelled to storm and attack each of the 60 legislators’ official quarters and burnt it down to ashes, if the present 14th NLA succumbs to outside forces and passes a bill in support of UCC”.
