Demonstration on cultivation practices held at Yikhanu village
DIMAPUR — The Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Chunlikha block under Tseminyu district conducted a ‘Demonstration on cultivation practices and use of bio-agents in winter crops’ at Yikhanu village, on October 26.
According to an update, the programme was organised in collaboration with District Agriculture Office, Tseminyu.
The resource persons ATM Chenobu Seb and ATM Sinlo Khing, apprised the farmers of the various cultivation practices of winter crops – nursery preparation, proper use of bio agents in seed treatment, seedling treatment and soil treatment.
The farmers were also informed of the spacing, soil management and moisture management based on the type of crops.
A new Food Security Group (FSG) called Yantsa Group was formed comprising of eight members. Seed money and revolving fund were also given to SHG Haiwa group.
All together, eight farmers participated in the demonstration. Bio-agents like Azotobacter, Phosphotica, Tricoderma and seeds were distributed to all the participants.
