DIMAPUR — The Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has condemned the “cold-blooded killing” of Abdul Kayum Talukdar, GB of New Market, by unidentified miscreants on the night of June 7 at Shaam Bazar, Signal Basti.
In a press release, the DCCI maintained that such dastardly acts have no place in a civilised society, especially in a cosmopolitan city like Dimapur where people from diverse region, culture and religion are striving to co-exist in peace and harmony.

“Whatever the motive behind the killing, no amount of justification can bring back a precious life that has been snatched away in the most inhuman manner,” the DCCI said.
The trade body urged the police and law enforcement agencies to act swiftly and bring the perpetrators to book.
“The guilty should also be awarded befitting penalty as per the law of the land. This will not only instill sense of security among the citizens but also act as a deterrent to anti-social elements who take the law into their own hands,” it added.
