DIMAPUR — The deputy commissioner of Wokha, Ajit Kumar Ranjan, on Thursday held a meeting with the sector magistrates, commanders, zonal magistrates and officers at his office and underlined their roles and responsibilities for the upcoming ULB elections.

On distribution of Voters Information Slips (VIS), he stated that the purpose of VIS is to identify and to know the serial number in the electoral roll and does not provide the authority to caste vote. During the meeting, the DC also briefed the officials about the silent period protocol, which would come in to effect from 4 pm of June 24.
