CoVSAH conducts awareness to conserve animal genetic resources

DIMAPUR — College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry (CoVSAH), Jalukie, conducted series of awareness programme across Peren district on “Conservation of animal genetic resources.”

The awareness programme was conducted in collaboration with ICAR-National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources, Karnal, Haryana, under the “Network project on animal genetic resources,” stated an update from the college.

During the event, project coordinator, Dr. Ksh. Mahesh Singh, assistant professor of Animal Genetics and Breeding at College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Jalukie, briefed on the different animal genetic resources available in the region, which need to be conserved and also demonstrated various scientific conservation methods/ techniques to be employed for conservation of locally available germplasms in the regions.

Altogether, 80 individuals from different parts of the district attended the programme and were benefited.
