Chakhesang Youth Front says no to illegal tax collection on developmental works
DIMAPUR — The Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) has reiterated the resolutions passed by the Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) and adopted by the Chakhesang community earlier this year, not to allow any illegal collection (of money) or demand from any group, in connection with the ongoing two-lane road construction and other developmental activities within its jurisdiction.
In a press release, the CYF said that the CPO had also resolved to insist all the contractors for timely completion of the projects and ensure quality as per the laid down guidelines and specifications.
It also extended support to the Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers’ Union (NCSU), Phek district unit, on its demand for a high-level technical team to conduct on-spot verification of the ongoing road upgrading from Chozuba town to PWD office under the central road infrastructure fund.
Further, the youth front demanded the concerned contractor to immediately resume the package-2 of the road project from Chakhabama to RD Block.
Highlighting the importance of various developmental activities to the people, it appealed to all the contractors and firms not to compromise on the quality of work, while also emphasising on timely completion of respective projects.
“The CYF shall continue to extend its fullest support and co-operation wherever required, in curbing the anti-social elements that may hamper the progress of the projects.
“However, the CYF shall also not hesitate to take appropriate action if the quality of the works is compromised, or if the projects are delayed without a genuine reason,” it added.
