DIMAPUR — Under the initiative of Men Fellowship Department of Chakhesang Baptist Church Ministers’ Hill, Kohima (CBCMHK), a three-day fathers’ camp got underway at John Government Higher Secondary School hostel in Viswema on October 20 on the theme “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved- you and your household” (Act 16:31).
Speaking on the topic ‘A father of blessings” on Saturday, senior pastor of CBCMHK, Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao, stated that a blessed father brings salvation to the family while a cursed and rejected father destroys the entire family. He, therefore, urged the fathers to be careful and ensure that the entire family is under their authority.
Stating that a good father mends the broken family in particular and the society in general, Rev. Phesao urged the fathers to take firm decision and applied the good wisdom when they return home after the camp, stated a press release issued by the camp media coordinator, Kuzhovesa Soho.
In a resource session, Dr. Medongoi Rhakho, deputy director of Higher Education department, spoke on “Education and family economy,” wherein he emphasised on the urgent need to retrospect oneself and to live with changing times. He said as a father, one needs to learn, unlearn and relearn the process of humanity in lives.
Counseling, group discussion, recreational activities were other highlights of the day. In recreational activities, Mark Group was declared as the champion of the day and was awarded the champion trophy.
On the first day, Rev. Dr. Wepre Mero, pastor of CBCMHK, spoke on the topic “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved- you and your household.”
It stated that an approximate 250 members including office bearers, camp officials, cooks, prayer warriors and campers have registered for the camp.
