DIMAPUR — C-Edge College observed World Entrepreneurs Day-cum-grand finale of The Entrepreneur 2023 on August 21.
World Entrepreneurs Day is celebrated every year by the college’s Department of Management Studies, and this year the theme of the celebration was ‘Celebrating women entrepreneurs,’ the college in an update stated.
The event was graced by Women Entrepreneurs Network Nagaland (WENN) members including Alemjungla Jamir, Zakietsono Jamir, Kewengule Therie and Vekutholu Vero.
A panel discussion was held with the WENN members, which was moderated by Wapanginla Ao, HoD and Dean of Management Studies.
The event also featured the declaration of the winners from the business venture competition, the Entrepreneur 2023.
Every year the Department of Management Studies organises the intra-college competition for interested students from all departments.
The competition focuses on discovering and enhancing the students’ entrepreneurial skills, leadership qualities, team spirit and interpersonal abilities. It also provides a platform for students to come up with their business ideas and execute them.
The sixth edition of ‘The Entrepreneur’ this year was held from July 14 to August 7. The students formed teams and each team was given seed money and the total capital profit earned during the competition was INR1, 75,700.
Orientation on basic business skills and bookkeeping were also imparted to the teams before the competition. A total of 12 teams vied for the competition.
A business review meeting was also held with each team to appraise their performance based on their report, presentation, viva, teamwork and creativity. The review meeting was held by the faculty members of the Department of Management Studies comprising of Wapanginla Ao, Shiva Prasad Dey and Duvolu Rhakho from the Department of Political Science.
The prize money for this year’s ‘The Entrepreneur’ was sponsored by Albert Sangtam, director and founder of Clefnote Music Academy.
Team Lagom comprising of Kumsuto, Maneki, Temsulila, Tovito and Nzanthung from BBA V semester, were the winners of this year’s competition. The first and second runner-ups were The Tomorrow and Trusted Leads teams, respectively.
All the teams received participation certificates, it stated.
