BZ Entertainment completes 100 HIV awareness street plays
DIMAPUR — In collaboration with the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS), BZ Entertainment has completed its 100th street play as part of the HIV awareness campaign across the state.
According to an update, the initiative, which began on November 17, 2023, at Super Market in Dimapur, travelled across multiple districts and culminated on November 19, 2024, in Kiphire district.
Throughout the tour, BZ Entertainment conducted 10 street plays in each participating district, delivering essential information about HIV transmission, prevention, and the importance of testing.
Each performance was designed to educate the public about HIV&AIDS, emphasising the critical need for testing and the importance of combating societal stigma.
The collaboration with NSACS also featured on-site HIV testing and counselling services, facilitated by the Mobile Integrated Counselling and Testing Centre (MICTC) team.
Furthermore, to promote continued access to HIV-related services, BZ Entertainment displayed the contact details of district programme officers (DPOs) at each show, enabling individuals to seek further information or assistance.
The initiative covered Dimapur, Kohima, Niuland, Chümoukedima, Tseminyu, Noklak, Kiphire, Peren, and Tuensang. BZ Entertainment is scheduled to perform an additional 20 shows in the two more districts, bringing the total number of performances to 120.
