Bhandari-Merapani Mekokla Ekhüng condemns October 27 murder
DIMAPUR —The Bhandari-Merapani Mekokla Ekhüng (BMME) expressed deep anguish and disturbance at the gruesome murder of T Mhashan Kinghen, son of late Tsenpon Kinghen of Akuk village, on October 27 at Merapani Road, on the outskirts of Bhandari town.
In a press statement, the Ekhüng condemned the “inhumane and barbaric act,” saying that it has outraged the sentiments of the community and beyond.
Stating that the heinous act of taking a young life and subsequently disposing of the body by the roadside had left everyone in shock and mourning, it was mentioned that this reflects a profound disregard for the sanctity of human life and such a diabolical act, devoid of any civility, deserves the highest condemnation from all members of society.
“The murder of T. Mhashan Kinghen was not just a tragedy for his family, friends and the community, but for all who believed in the value of life and safety of the people,” it said, adding that such brutal acts of violence should and must not go unpunished.
The BMME appealed to the law enforcement agencies to conduct a swift and thorough investigation and to leave no stone unturned in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
“We stand in solidarity and furthermore, extend our deepest and profound sympathy to the bereaved family members of Late T. Mhashan Kinghen,” it concluded.
