CHOZUBA — Advisor of Civil Administrative Works Department (CAWD) and Taxes, Kudecho Khamo, on Saturday said there will always be a place for hard working and who are committed despite stiff competitions.

Speaking at the literary and cultural day of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) in Chozuba under Phek district, Khamo said knowledge is power and added that if a person has enough knowledge, he/she has the power within. He further explained that if a person has the ability to think and analyse and move forward, that is the capital.

Khamo stated that human resources play an important role and good people can only build a good nation. He has accredited the role of the teachers in moulding the nation. He added that the government of the day under the leadership of Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, is concentrating on human resource development.

Highlighting that Chief Minister’s Meritorious Scholarship Fellowship (CMMSF), which rewards the meritorious students of HSLC examination for the next five years with an annual amount of INR 50,000, he encouraged the students to work hard to avail the same. For those interested in entrepreneurship, he informed that the Chief Minister Micro Finance Initiative (CMMFI) is for start-up and various other schemes to venture into entrepreneurship.

He told the students that the choice is within them to choose what they want to be either an employer or an employee. He added that it requires vision to be an employer.

Expounding that student life is the best time to choose and envision for life, he exhorted them to make the best use of school days. He added that choosing career after graduation would be late in this era of cut throat competition. Also stating that the time for political appointment and manipulation are gone, he said one needs to be prepared to undergo competition, which requires seriousness, efforts and sacrifice.

Advising the students that dream and vision alone is not possible without prayer, he told the students to fear God and obey their parents. He also urged the students to obey their teachers, who are the backbone of the nation, to get blessings.

The welcome address was delivered by Vesuzo Swuro, vice principal of GHSS Chozuba, while Khovetalu and friends presented a folk song.

Later, competitions on solo, quartet, debate, extempore speech, quiz, spelling bee (junior), essay writing, 4D painting, movie making (mobile) and photography were also conducted.

Dr. Janbemo N Humtsoe was the debate critic and Kuvoto Rhakho was the quiz master.
