Basketball court plaque unveiled in Mokokchung

Mokokchung, Sep. 26 (EMN): A plaque for a basketball court sponsored by Nagaland Mineral and Mines (NMM) was formally unveiled at Imkongmeren Sports Complex on Monday.

NMM Proprietor Temjenmoa Jamir, in his short speech, said this project has given the NMM the opportunity to serve the society and expressed hope that some of the actions will be replicated by the younger generation to contribute more to the society .

He also observed that youngsters are facing many challenges today such as usage of drugs and alcohol because they don’t have the avenue. In this regard, he prayed that this court serves the youths to achieve something in life and avoid the temptation of succumbing to drugs and alcohol addiction.

He also urged the Basketball Association of Mokokchung District (BAMD) to realise the dream of making Mokokchung the basketball capital of Nagaland.

An exhibition game between BAMD and Mokokchung Basketball Lovers was followed after the brief unveiling ceremony.
