Online auditions for ‘Battle of the Bands’ to end on Aug. 25

Grand finale on Sep. 27 at RCEMPA from 10 am onwards

DIMAPUR — The online submission for the upcoming ‘Battle of the Bands’ beat contest is now open for all interested student bands who wish to part take at the event organised by the Department of Youth Resources & Sports in collaboration with Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA).

This year’s winner will walk away with a cash prize of INR 1,00,000. The first runners-up and second second runners-up will walk away with INR 50,000 an INR 30,000 respectively while 5 consolation prizes with INR 10,000 each will be awarded to five bands.

For the audition round, the organisers in their social media platforms has requested all interested bands to upload a short performance or a practice video on their personal or band Instagram page and tag Bands are requested to upload a short performance/practice video on their personal or band lnstagram page and tag @tafmanagaland with #YRSBC24, phone number, name of band, name of school and district, on or before August 25.

After which, a panel of judges will select 8 bands for the live performance round scheduled to be to be held at RCEMPA, Jotsoma on Sep. 27.

For the second round, the eight selected bands will perform two songs of their choice (cover/original) from 10 am onwards and the best five bands will be selected for the final round.

For the final round too, the five selected bands would be performing two songs of their choice (cover/original).

The organisers informed that the selected bands should bring their own personal music gears excluding the drum set which would be provided by the organisers.

With bands from Nagaland schools and higher secondaries only, a band must comprise only of members from High School /Higher Secondary School they represent and that the bands should perform in their school uniform.
