ASER 2024 training underway in Kiphire
DIMAPUR — The district-level training for the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) 2024 began on Thursday at Seili Conference Hall in Kiphire town.
The ASER survey, a nationwide, citizen-led household initiative, seeks to understand whether children in rural India are enrolled in school and whether they are achieving basic reading and arithmetic skills.
During the training, participants were briefed on the objectives and methodology of the ASER survey. Emphasis was placed on the importance of accurate data collection, which plays a pivotal role in shaping policies and strategies to improve education in rural areas.
The previous ASER 2022 survey covered around seven lakh children in 19,000 villages across 616 districts in India. This year’s survey promises to provide updated and detailed insights, particularly in rural areas like Kiphire.
As the district gears up for this massive effort, the trained volunteers will soon commence the data collection process.
