AR conducts essay writing competition in Zunheboto
DIMAPUR — The 11 battalion Assam Rifles under the leadership of assistant commandant, NS Meitei, conducted an essay writing competition on the theme “Unity in diversity” in Zunheboto on Saturday.
An update from Assam Rifles stated that the event attracted enthusiastic participation from students highlighting the importance of harmony and inclusivity in Indian society. It added that the concept of “Unity in Diversity” underscored the idea that, despite varying backgrounds, people can coexist harmoniously.
During the event, NS Meitei emphasised the need for equality and mutual respect by stating that those principles are crucial for fostering unity and integrity among individuals from different caste, creed and race.
Meitei encouraged the youth to consider joining the Indian army, outlining plans for training camps aimed at preparing youth for a career in the armed forces. He informed that those camps would offer written exam coaching, physical training and education to aspiring candidates.
He articulated that serving in the Indian armed forces embodies the essence of national identity, transcending barriers of color, religion, caste or race.
“Our prime objective is to defend the nation and promote peace and prosperity,” he said.
In conclusion, Meitei inspired the participants with a slogan “From many colours, one bright light; together we shine, together we’re right.” He also urged the youth to focus on their future prospects rather than solely on agricultural endeavours by emphasising the importance of education and career development.
In a commitment to the local community, Meitei announced plans to circulate information about various exams and opportunities to help reduce educated unemployment in Zunheboto. He further reassured the participants that the Assam Rifles are there to support and protect them by welcoming any inquiries related to education, sports and medical assistance.
