DIMAPUR — The All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) has requested that the government of Nagaland immediately pay the full amount to the taxi drivers and owners in all districts whose taxis were requited for security duty during the 14th Nagaland assembly elections.

In a press note, the ANTA mentioned that the association had held meetings and even notified the competent authority on numerous occasions for a period of six months straight. However, it claimed that despite every word being placed, necessitating the realisation of the pending requisition amount owed to the taxi drivers and owners, the request was completely ignored and disregarded.

It said that this cold gesture of the competent authority is not a welcoming impression and is not worth appreciating. The association has also called for an immediate response to the victims, arguing that taxi drivers and owners make their living solely from the services they provide to the public.

It cautioned that ANTA will stop all future cooperation with the government of Nagaland with regard to election matters if it fails to pay the dues.
