Angami Sports Association 50th meet: Wayo and CYO emerge champions in sepaktakraw

Kohima, Feb. 16 (EMN): The ongoing Angami Sports Association (ASA) meet entered day-three in Kohima on Wednesday.
Following the culmination of athletics, Wayo emerged champion in the men’s sepaktakraw event after defeating Nasa in the final to claim the gold medal at IG Stadium.
Similarly, CYO defeated Sasa in the final of the women’s category to win the gold medal.
Nasa and Sasa are through to the finals in both the men’s and women’s volleyball, which was played during the day at Tsiesema ground.
The women’s volleyball final match will begin at 10:30 am, followed by the men’s final at the Tsiesema ground on Thursday.
In football (men), which is being conducted in a league pattern, the first match between CYO and Sasa ended in a goalless draw. The second match between Wayo and Nasa also ended in a 1-1 draw.
CYO defeated Wayo 2-1 in the third match, while Nasa beat Sasa 1-0 in the fourth match.
More matches will continue at IG Stadium on Thrusday.
Meanwhile, badminton and table tennis commenced at the State Indoor Stadium on Wednesday.
Several sportspersons from the Northern Angami Sports Association (Nasa), Southern Angami Sports Association, Western Angami Youth Organisation (Wayo) and Chakhroma Youth Organisation (CYO) are competing for top honours in different disciplines.
