MTLT mourns shooting, condemns hospital vandalism
The Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem (MTLT) (Mokokchung Town Youth Organisation) has also expressed its deep anguish over the tragic shooting incident.
In a statement, the MTLT expressed its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members while also commending the Mokokchung Police for their prompt action and expediting the case. It demanded that law enforcement agencies thoroughly investigate the case and deliver justice as soon as possible.
The MTLT also condemned the unruly mob that vandalised the Dr. Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) properties on October 18.
It mentioned that such vandalism of a place of healing is completely unwarranted and unacceptable under any circumstances, and that such unruly behaviour has created a fear psychosis in the minds of the health workers at the IMDH and may have had a negative impact on the fragile health of the patients admitted to the hospital.
It called on all right-thinking citizens and organisations to detest attacking public places, especially healthcare institutions, as it would ultimately hurt the general well-being of the public.
“The MTLT deeply regrets the turn of events over the past couple of days, and we hope that good sense shall prevail as the people await the law-enforcing agencies to deliver justice,” the statement read.
