Mokokchung, Jan. 20 (EMN): The 69th AKM general conference in Akhoya village under Mokokchung district culminated on Friday with T Molung Aier, former AKM president and retired deputy director of School Education, as the valedictory guest.
In his address, Aier challenged the students to prove the concept of the clean election without falling into corruption and participating in the upcoming election in the true sense of choosing good leadership.
“If the student community upholds the true concept of the clean election, there is a way to achieve the slogan of clean election as aspired by the people,” Aier said.
He further encouraged the students to practically follow ‘Education in praxis’ by becoming self-reliant and challenged the student to become a self-reliance community by 2029, the year AKM would celebrate its 100 years of existence.
During the last session, a new team of office bearers for the tenure 2023-2026 was nominated led by Lanutoshi Aier from Lirmen as president, Onenpong from Kinunger as vice president, Satemmongba from Akhoya as general secretary, Pangjungkabafrom Chungtiayimsen as assistant general secretary, Lanulemba Longchar from Sungratsü as education secretary, Ayimakum Aier from Longjang as finance secretary, Imnayachet Mollier from Mongchen as culture secretary, Temlangsangba from Longkhum as sports secretary, and Bendangnangba from Chungtiayimsen as information secretary.
AKM adopted two major resolutions namely to set up an UPSC Aspirant Trust Fund for which the Akhoya Students’ Union donated a sum of INR 5 lakh and secondly to conduct conclaves in consonance with the theme of the conference “Education in Praxis.” The conclaves would be held focusing on entrepreneurship, career guidance, research development and innovation, financing and job mela. An app would also be developed to guide the students in the mentioned field.
