AIDA-CFD organises poem recitation competition
DIMAPUR — The ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA)-Child Friendly Dimapur (CFD) organised a poem recitation competition as part of the Children’s Campaign 2024 for members of the child rights clubs from various localities and institutions.
The event was held on the theme ‘Break free: Choose health, not harm,’ at the AIDA training hall in Dimapur on Saturday, according to a press release.
The event aimed to raise awareness about substance abuse and provide a platform for children to showcase their talents.
The judges included Dr. Alem Sangtam, president of the Nagaland Theological Colleges Association and a member of the Civil Society Forum, CFD, AIDA; Sebi Chacko, project coordinator at Don Bosco Job Placement Network; and Mechietonü Agnes Kiso, civil society mobilisation officer, CFD, AIDA.
The competition, which saw the participation of 54 students, was won by Sapuni from Government Middle School, Midland, with Mulai, also from Government Middle School, Midland, finishing second. Taochi Kangshou from Don Bosco Higher Secondary School secured the third prize.
During the event, Garrol Lotha, project coordinator of Child Friendly Dimapur, while delivering a speech, encouraged attendees to refrain from substance abuse and embrace a healthy and joyful life.
