Multinutrient health mix launched for Peren schoolchildren
DIMAPUR — The launching programme of Sai Sure Multinutrient Health Mix for schoolchildren under PM Poshan was held at Government Middle School, Peren Town, on Thursday.
Allath Santosh, national manager of the Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust, spoke during the event about the importance of nutrition for growing children. He emphasised how daily morning nutrition can significantly impact a child’s growth and development, according to an update.
He also highlighted how the Sai Sure multinutrient supplement could help improve children’s health. Santosh added that eliminating the problem of malnutrition among children in the country would require collective effort and sacrifice from everyone.
During the launch programme, DC Peren Hiazu Meru commended the trust and the Education department for their initiatives and for prioritising healthy nutrition for school-going children.
He spoke on the National Education Policy 2020, which aims to transform the education system in India to make it more inclusive, equitable, and aligned with the needs of the 21st century. He urged all teaching staff and heads of institutions under Peren district to impart inclusive and equitable education.
He added that education is fundamental for achieving full human potential and is the responsibility of the department. He highlighted the importance of the PM Poshan and urged teachers to do their best in implementing it.
The DC encouraged the continuation of the programme to enhance health and nutrition.
Brief speeches were also delivered by Deputy Director of School Education, Avinuo, and Chairperson of Peren Town Council, Mireulung Sephe. A song was presented by GMS Peren Town, and SDEO Tening, Teisi, delivered the vote of thanks.
The launch programme was attended by town councillors, head teachers, principals, and representatives from various government schools under Peren district.
