3 more candidates file nominations for Nagaland poll on Saturday
KOHIMA — With the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) having issued party tickets for election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), two of its candidates filed nominations on Saturday.
Sources informed Eastern Mirror that Vikheho Swu filed his nomination fron 13 Pughoboto Assembly Constituency (AC) at around 2 pm at Pughoboto headquarters, which is an election district.
Swu was accompanied by NDPP party workers for the filing of nomination before the Sub-divisional officer and returning officer for 13th Pughoboto AC, R Daniel Angami.
Salhoutuonuo Kruse, NDPP candidate for the 8th Western Angami Assembly Constituency (AC), also filed her nomination on Saturday at 11:25 am.
According to an update from DPRO, BJP candidate for 4 Ghaspani-I under Chumoukedima district, PHED minister Jacob Zhimomi, also filed his nomination in the presence of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswas Sarma on Saturday.
The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, had earlier updated that Hayithung Tungoe Lotha filed nomination on Friday, becoming the first person to do so for the Nagaland election 2023. He is contesting as an Independent candidate from 37 Tyui AC.
