Diphu, March 14 (EMN): The Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Executive Member (EM), in charge Higher Education, Jagatsing Engti on March 14 inspected Diphu Polytechnic.
Duringthe inspection, Jagatsing Engti requested the contractor involved for hostel construction to complete at the earliest.
He lamented that the institution has power facility which is now disconnected by Assam State Electricity Board (ASEB) because of the earlier liabilities.
Commenting on the poor power facility, Engti said that the Diphu Polytechnic which was non-functional was once occupied as a designated camp of the over-ground extremist organisations.
Also, inspecting the infrastructure of the polytechnic, Engti said that the boundary wall needs to be constructed inorder to check encroachment from the outside while the institution building and staff quarters need renovation.
Accompanied by Principal, Diphu Polytechnic Utpal Bora, the EM assured that the state run institution with KAAC as the caretaker will meet the requirements of the institution for the students.
EM Engti also informed that a Special Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) will be conducted though final date is not yet fixed, it will be conducted by March. The Special TET is purely for Karbi Anglong and candidates will be only from the two hill districts of Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong.
