DIMAPUR — The 16th Peace Knit concluded at the Peace Centre in Chümoukedima on the 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the patron of the North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR).

According to a press release, delegates, including Br. Dr. Simon Coelho, president of the Eastern and NE region at XBHEL, and Dr. Sr. Celine Crasta, AC, HoD History at Patna Women's College, Bihar, paid tribute to Gandhi on the occasion.

Crasta spoke about Gandhi, emphasising his non-violent approach to peacemaking and his significant contributions to India, recounting Gandhi’s life story. She encouraged everyone to emulate his principles, while Coelho showed a documentary video about his life.

Dr. Fr. C P Anto, principal of NEISSR, expressed gratitude to all the delegates and guests for being a part of the Peace Knit.

The three-day convention concluded with an exposure trip to various tourist destinations in Dimapur and Kohima.

NEISSR and Peace Channel collaborated with Xavier Board-Eastern and NE Region, the North East Social Research Centre, Guwahati, and the North East Diocesan Social Service Society, Guwahati, to organise the event.
