Zhadima Village Youth and Sports Organisation sports meet concludes

DIMAPUR — The 62nd annual sports meet of the Zhadima Village Youth and Sports Organisation (ZVYSO) concluded at the Zhadima Sports Complex on Friday.

Addressing the gathering, guest of honour Dr. Kheshika Yepthomi, Deputy Director and Nodal Officer of NHM, Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, said that he was impressed by the sports infrastructure and the young athletes in the village.

He also lauded the sports lovers, elders and residents living outside the village for gathering to support and encourage aspiring players in the village, according to an update 

Stating that sports has a huge avenue for enthusiasts, he encouraged the athletes to be determined and to give their best in sports discipline they take up.

In men’s football, Kimho Khel-II (A) team emerged as the winner, while Calhake Khel-II secured the runners-up position.

In men’s volleyball, defending champion Zhadima-II Khel retained the title for the second consecutive year by defeating Kimho Khel-II  in the final, while in women’s volleyball Basa Khel emerged as the champions and Kimho Khel-II secured the runners-up position.

In men’s table tennis single, Neikhrietuo Albert Loucü emerged as the champion by defeating Thejanguzo Kuotsu in the final, while Neilakho Khoubve and Neikhrietuo Albert Loucü won the doubles title by defeating Dziesengulie Miario and Menuolelhou Khoubve.

In women’s table tennis single, Kevilenuo Pfüsenuo emerged as the champion and Kevisenuo Pfüsenuo secured the runner-up position.

In men’s badminton double, Ruokuosatuo Khoubve emerged as the champion by defeating Akhriebou Khoubve in the final, while Ruokuovizo Sorünuo and Akhriebou Khoubve emerged as winners and the runners-up title went to Seyiekhrielhou Kuotsu and Thepfusalie Thomas.

In women’s badminton single, Petekhrienuo Sorünuo won the champion title, while Vilhoubeinuo Sorünuo secured the runner-up position.

Rüziake Khel won the best discipline trophy.
