Youth festival to promote culture held in Tuensang
DIMAPUR — A youth festival, jointly organised by the Tuensang district administration, district sports office and Chang Wedoshe Steshang (CWS), was held at town hall, Tuensang, on Monday.
The festival was organised as part of the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign, an official update stated.
Additional deputy commissioner of Tuensang, Thungchanbemo Tungoe, the keynote speaker in the inaugural programme, emphasised the significance of the youth festival in showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the district.
The ADC urged students to take pride in their knowledge of the area’s traditions and culture. Additionally, Tungoe encouraged all eligible students who have reached the age of 18, to register themselves as voters and actively participate in clean elections.
He stressed the importance of selecting dedicated and energetic candidates who can work for the welfare of the community.
The festival included various competitions and activities such as photography, folk songs and a millet dish competition.
The event was chaired by Langasomba, vice president of CWS, while Pongsu, president of CWS, spoke on the highlights of the festival. The festival witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across Tuensang town, it stated.
