TRIFED organises tribal artisan mela in Zunheboto

DIMAPUR — The Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Ltd. (TRIFED), in partnership with the Zunheboto district administration, organise a ‘Tribal artisan mela’ at Zunheboto town hall on Saturday.

A DIPR report stated that the deputy commissioner of Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali, inaugurated the mela. He was accompanied by Lieutenant Colonel Sanyam Kashyap, TRIFED general manager, and Ashif Ikbal Hussain, TRIFED senior programme executive.

The ‘Tribal artisan mela’ was organised as part of the marketing and logistics support for promotion of ‘Tribal products in Northeastern region (PTP-NER)’ initiative.

It stated that sample products were selected by TRIFED and expert from other agencies, who would be responsible for giving bulk order at a later stage. It added that the products would be sold through retail outlets of TRIFED and also through online portal tribesindia.com as well as Amazon and Flipkart.

Report stated that artisans identified during the mela would be invited and sponsored by TRIFED for all India exhibition and fairs. It added that a total of 198 tribal artisians participated out of which 32 were empanelled.
