Kohima, July 30 (EMN): Advisor of Technical Education and Election, Medo Yhokha, on Saturday told the residents of Kohima to adapt to smart living along with the smart city mission, and not let infrastructure projects alone be smart.
He stated this during the foundation stone laying ceremony for construction of Kitsubozou community hall-cum-multi-parking at Dobashi Lane in Kitsubozou Colony. Yhokha emphasised that the people need to be smart by adopting behavioural change in attitude, lifestyle, cleanliness and civic sense.
Laying the foundation stone for the construction of community building under slum redevelopment, a component of Smart City Mission Kohima, he exuded hope that the place would be built to bind people together and unify the society.
He acknowledged the Nagaland chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, advisor of Urban Development and Municipal Affair, Dr. Neikiesalie Kire, and Smart City Mission for allocating the fund. While appreciating the Dobashis and the leaders of the colony for paving the way in enabling the project, he urged the contractors to work as per specification and facilitate the needs of the people.
Yhokha, who is the MLA from the locality, also informed that he along with the colony leaders are pursuing with the government for road connectivity and water supply. He also pointed out the need to upgrade the Government Primary School and health centre in the locality.
Also speaking on the occasion, the assistant head GB of Kitsubozou, Vituozo Kire, has acknowledged the chief minister Neiphiu Rio, advisor of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Dr. Neikiesalie Kire, and advisor Medo Yhokha for the project in the colony. He also expressed gratitude to Kezha Theunuo, CEO of Kohima Smart City Development Limited (KSCDL), and other officials and assured support and cooperation for the timely completion of the project.
Head of Dobashi, Kohima highlighted the history and significance of the Dobashi Lane since the colonial era and urged the people to keep the legacy.
Meanwhile, Khoto Tetseo, who spoke on behalf of contractors, has sought cooperation from the residents for timely completion of the project. He informed that the ground floor would be for the multi-parking, first floor for Dobashi quarters and top floor for Kitsubozou community hall under slum redevelopment project under KSCDL. He stated that construction is expected to be completed by June 2023.
