Visoneilie Khoubve wins ZVYSO wrestling championship

Visoneilie Khoubve emerged as the wrestling champion of the 61st Zhadima Village Youth and Sports Organisation (ZVYSO) meet 2023 held at Zhadima village on Tuesday.

Khriesangutuo Khoubve (Kimho Khel-II) secured second position while Neingusalie Soliezuo (Rüziake Khel) and Kevimezo Loucü (Kimho Khel-I), emerged as third and fourth position holders respectively.  

The champion walked away with a cash reward of INR 20,000 while the second, third, and fourth position holders received INR 15,000, INR 10,000, and INR 5,000 respectively.

Chairman of Nagaland Building and Other Construction Workers Board (NBOCWWB), Kekhrie Yhome, handed over the awards to the winners.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio graced the sports meet as the chief guest. He lauded the village for producing prominent sports personalities who represented the state over the years.

He shared his contentment over the unity of Zhadima village for displaying the true spirit of sports by bringing together the eight khels.

Rio further informed that Nagaland is likely to host the next North East Olympics. He urged sportspersons in the state to work hard and consistently work for the uplift of the sports sector, adding the state has potential to develop in futsal.

He also highlighted on the recently launched Chief Minister’s Health insurance Scheme and Chief Minister’s Micro Financing Scheme.

On the occasion, Rio handed over the Zhadima Youth Lifetime Achievement Award 2023 to football coach Roko Angami, who represented India at several international sports events and also represented Nagaland and Maharashtra.

He also presented the ZVYSO presidential awards to Keneilelie Sorünuo (bodybuilding), Neizovolie Chüpuo (archery), Khriezotuonuo Sorünuo (basketball), Seyielezo Pfüsenuo (football) and Rhipeu Thele Sorünuo (NPSC exam), for their achievement in respective disciplines.

Earlier, Rio inaugurated the newly constructed Zhadima Youth Building at the Zhadima multipurpose ground.
