DIMAPUR — A van of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) (Urban), a nationwide campaign to disseminate information and raise general awareness about central welfare schemes, reached Zunheboto district on Saturday.

A programme was held on the occasion at Project Colony, with special guest Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra, Additional Secretary, DoPT, and state prabhari of VBSY Nagaland, according to a DIPR update.

Mishra said in his speech that VBSY is the most ambitious and promising programme to achieve the goal of self-sufficiency and make India a developed nation by 2047. He maintained that people should abandon colonial thinking and respect those who protect them, as well as perform their duties as responsible citizens.

In his welcome address, Deputy Commissioner Rahul Bhanudas Mali thanked Mishra for his visit to Zunheboto and reminded the gathering that the VBSY is a nation-wide campaign aimed at raising awareness through outreach activities and making all of the country’s population aware of the various schemes of the government of India.

He added that in order to avail of the benefits, all eligible and potential beneficiaries must open bank accounts and acquire Aadhar cards to get themselves enrolled.

Moakumzuk Tzudir, ADC Zunheboto, concluded the programme with a vote of thanks.

Other highlights of the programme included the screening of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recorded message, followed by the Sankalp pledge for Viksit Bharat. This was followed by Meri Kahani Meri Zubani by the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), PMSVANidhi, and SBMIHHL, in which they expressed their gratitude for the PM and shared testimonies.

The event also included on-site registration for various schemes such as PMSVANidhi, Ujjwala Yojna, Aayushman Bharat, and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojna, as well as services like Aadhar registration and medical checkups.
