Kohima, March 18 (EMN):
The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) on Friday nominated Minister for Planning and Co-ordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs, Neiba Kronu as its secretary; and Minister for Soil and Water Conservation, Geology and Mining, V Kashiho Sangtam as co-secretary.

Kronu informed this to journalists after the ruling alliance’s meeting at the Chief Minister Residential Complex in Kohima.

He informed that the meeting was held in view of the ensuing eleventh session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) which will start today, on Saturday and culminate on March 25.

Meanwhile, the minister also informed that the chief minister, during his recent visit to Delhi, had met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda and others, along with the deputy CM Y Patton, UDA Chairman TR Zeliang.

He, however, said that ‘they were supposes to meet again but couldn’t as Amit Shah had to leave for Uttar Pradesh because of the elections in the state, and so they had to return to Nagaland’.

On ULB election

When asked about the urban local bodies (ULBs) election with 33% reservation for women, Kronu said the state Cabinet had discussed the same. ‘It will take a little more time, as electoral revision is needed and it will take 6-7 months for the whole electoral revision,’ he said.

He added that notification and other procedure will take some time.
