Kohima, Jan. 4 (EMN): MLA Dr. Chotisuh Sazo said the present UDA government headed by Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, is trying its best to facilitate the Naga political issue.
Dr. Sazo said in the 11th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) session, all 60 legislators led by the chief minister met the Prime Minister, Home minister and other union ministers and requested the central leaders to bring about an early solution to the Naga issue.
Inaugurating the new water supply project at Khulazu Bawe village in Phek district on December 31, Sazo also said even in the 12th house of NLA when he was the then Speaker, the PWC went two times to Delhi and met the Prime Minister, Home minister and other union ministers and leaders of various national political parties.
In the present 13th house, he said under the leadership of Rio, the Parliamentary Committee on Naga Political Issue was formed with all 60 legislators and two MPs, out of which a core committee consisting of political parties, tribes and MPs have had several meetings with different groups of Naga political groups and Government of India representatives and Union Home minister.
“However, since we (legislators) are only a facilitator, the final settlement or solution depends on GoI and the negotiating parties,” Sazo said.
