DIMAPUR — The Superintendent of Police (SP), Longleng, Dr. Pritpal Kaur, inaugurated a computer lab at Phom Lenpong Higher Secondary School (PLHSS) and Bautung Government Higher Secondary School (BGHSS), both in Longleng town on August 21 and 22 respectively.
The computer lab with 10 computers each and all accessories was created under the concept of Apni Pathshala (Shri. Annirudha Malpani) of CHRP Mumbai Trust, in collaboration with SP’s office Longleng, PBCA, PLHSS and BGHSS.
Speaking at both programmes, Dr. Kaur explained the importance of information and technology and raised awareness about cybercrimes. Stating that technology could be either a boon or a bane depending on its usage, she urged the students to make wise use of the facilities for the benefit of society.
She encouraged the students, who constitute the backbone of society, to learn science and technology with the aim of building a more progressive and secure society. She further advised them to work hard instead of indulging in drugs or other intoxicants.
At PLHSS, the programme was chaired by its teacher Sentijungla Jamir, while the welcome address was delivered by the school’s principal, Hamyep Phom.
The executive secretary of PBCA, Tialemba Phom, also motivated the students and said the benediction.
At BGHSS, the school’s principal, Alumaran, acknowledged the donors and motivated students, while the invocation was said by Abeinu and concluded with a benediction said by Temjenkal Jamir.
