Two fire incidents destroy houses, properties in Kohima

Kohima, Dec. 11 (EMN): Two fire incidents were reported in Kohima on Thursday destrying houses and properties, according to officer-in-charge of Kohima South Fire Station, Lhouliebeizo.
The officer told Eastern Mirror on Friday that first incident was reported at around 9:26 am at Mohankhola, opposite ICICI Bank Kohima, and the fire was doused off without loss of property. It was caused by LPG leakage.
Another fire incident occurred at Merhulietsa (Paramedical) Colony, Kohima on Thursday night and was reported at around 8:30 pm. Lhouliebeizo informed that two ‘kutcha’ houses and a government quarter type-3 were destroyed and property worth approximately INR 26, 48,100 were lost in the fire.
The officer informed that six vehicles — four from South Fire Station and two from North Fire Station – were pressed into action with three ASI, six drivers and 21 firemen led by SI Sevi Kera. They were able to save property worth INR 20 lakh, he added.
Meanwhile, Kera has sought public support and co-operation in the event of any emergencies in order to enable the personnel on duty to execute their duty.
