Tuensang, Mon districts hold DPDB meetings

DIMAPUR — The monthly Tuensang District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on Friday at the DC’s conference hall. The meeting, which was chaired by the Deputy Commissioner and vice chairman of DPDB Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, commenced with a review of the minutes of the previous meeting, an update from DIPR stated.

The meeting then discussed the establishment of a verification committee for four assembly constituencies, specifically for the Local Area Development Programme (LADP) schemes for the year 2023.

The chairman also requested the Department of Agriculture and its allied branches to verify the extent of damage to fields and properties caused by this year’s monsoon and to carry out geotagging of affected areas. This initiative aims to provide necessary assistance to the affected populace, it stated.

Further, the board put forth recommendations for the registration of several societies, including Eastern United Society, Living Hope Welfare Society, Integrated Development Society, Rural Development Welfare Society, Tribal Development Society, Yangti Yangdei Society and Nyenshen Football Club, Tuensang

Meanwhile, the monthly meeting of the Mon District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) was held on September 6 in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office, Mon.

The meeting was presided over by Deputy Commissioner and vice chairman of DPDB, Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma, an official update stated.

Prior to the commencement of the meeting, the board members observed a moment of silence to pay tribute to the late Noke Wangnao, former Advisor of Department of Social Welfare. The chairman conducted a review of the minutes from the previous meeting.

The agenda discussed during the meeting included society registration of Vision Organisation Mon; students’ meritorious award 2023; the opening of a New GPS at Tirap Valley in Pinhang village under Tizit sub-division; construction of a retaining wall at Konyak Union office; creation of a medical sub-centre in Longching town; change of Leangha Village Council to Loung Leangha Village Council; establishment of a police outpost at Mopong EAC headquarters; NOC requirement for various trade unions through DPDB; construction of a heliport at Konyak Heritage Site and setting up of a police outpost at the heritage site.

Before the meeting, the DC also presented awards to the HSLC and HSLC toppers from Mon district for the year 2023.
