DIMAPUR — National Oral Health Programme, Kohima district, conducted a training and awareness programme on the importance of oral health for school teachers at Government Middle School, Keyake, on Friday.
A brief introduction on oral health and hygiene was presented by Dr. Mhonsenli Yanthan, followed by an elaborate powerpoint presentation on common oral diseases by Dr. Noyingbeni Khuvung, a DIPR report stated.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]Dr Simon I Sumi, district oral health officer, emphasised tobacco and its ill effects and also gave a demonstration on proper tooth brushing technique, followed by a brief interactive session with the teachers.
A total of 15 teachers took part in the programme. The programme was chaired by Khriesavilie Solo, head teacher of GMS, Keyake, while a vote of thanks was delivered by Imlimenla, assistant head teacher, GMS, Keyake.
Toothbrush, toothpaste along with IEC materials were also distributed during the training programme.
