MOKOKCHUNG — A one-day training session for nodal officers of enforcement agencies for the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha Election was held at the DC office conference hall in Mokokchung on Thursday.
The session was chaired by Thsuvisie Phoji, deputy commissioner and district election officer of Mokokchung.
During the training session, the DC stressed the critical importance of election preparedness, emphasising the need for heightened cooperation and coordination among the officers.
Renben Mozhui, assistant election officer (AEO) for Mokokchung, also briefed the attendees. He issued directives to key security stakeholders, urging heightened vigilance, particularly along the borders.
The excise department was tasked with enforcing regulations on liquor stocking and distribution, with a mandate to eradicate illicit alcohol production. He also entrusted the department to combat narcotics smuggling along the border.
In an effort to control any illicit financial flows, the AEO directed the Tax Department to closely monitor suspected conduits for election-related cash inflows.
