KOHIMA — The Department of Youth Resources and Sports organised a stilt bamboo race, an indigenous sport of the Nagas, for tourists at the Amphitheatre, Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, on Wednesday, as part of the ongoing Hornbill Festival.
A total of four females and eight males participated in the competition.
In the female category, Kuenne Katrin from Germany was declared the winner, while Sumi Deka from Assam and Marina from Germany were declared the first and second runners-up, respectively.

In the male category, Duncan from Australia was declared the winner, while Neelav Pathak from Assam and Sharam from Jaipur were declared the first and second runners-up, respectively.

The winners in both categories were awarded cash prizes of INR 7,000, INR 5,000, and INR 3,000, respectively.
