Elaborating on the advantages of modern technology in furthering one’s knowledge, the director of Treasuries and Accounts, Vahine Thisa advised the students to make good use in order to excel in life
KOHIMA — Elaborating on the advantages of modern technology in furthering one’s knowledge, while at the same time it could have adverse impact by reckless use, the director of Treasuries and Accounts, Vahine Thisa, on Saturday advised the students to make good use in order to excel in life.
She stated this during the 28th fresher’s social meet of Thenyizumi Students’ Union Kohima (TSUK) held at Baptist High auditorium in Kohima. She advised the students to set priority and manage their time well saying that students’ life is short and crucial in deciding for the future.
The director also encouraged the students to work with devotion and strong determination to build a career starting from higher secondary level which according to her is formative years.
Observing that many students were brought up from the village, she encouraged them to give extra efforts to compete with others. She also advised the students not to be swayed by other activities but set priority and make it a habit to learn everyday so as to contribute towards their personal growth.
Asserting that self-discipline is important to enable a person for perfection, she urged the students to develop positive thinking to overcome the challenges and gain self-confidence.
Further, Thisa told the students to seek God first before anything else and also commit to the Lord their plans and work. She also advised the students to have a strong determination and be firmed to their plan with a strong will power.
Earlier, Medothi Rhakho, chairman of Thenyizu Village Council, congratulated the toppers and the students on their achievements. He exhorts the students to work towards their dreams with optimism and hope.
The presidential address was delivered by Sevotalu Porü, while the education and statistical report was presented by Adulü Sencila Kapü. Folk song was presented by Thenyizumi Women Society and a song was presented by Melutolu Thisa.
Meanwhile, Metsilu Swiho (HSLC Top 7) and Vetolu Yomi (HSLC Top 18) also spoke on the occasion and speech on behalf of the freshers was delivered by Nukhovelu Dawhuo.
A new team of TSUK for the tenure 2023-24 would be led by Avolu Theyo as president, Besuta Vero as vice president, and Kehuzhoyi Resu as general secretary along with 25 others.
