TaFMA invites application for CM’s music scholarship

Tasks Force for Music and Fine Arts (TaFMA) has invited applications for Chief Minister’s Music Scholarship 2021. The course will commence from May 1 and finish on July 31.

The scholarship is a first of its kind and a new initiative that Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, had announced in his last budget session for 2021-2022 amongst other new initiatives and programmes towards making the state a ‘Land of music and arts’.

“TaFMA is grateful to Hon’ble Chief Minister@Neiphiu_Rio for his support and vision to empower and equip our Music Educators and Music Producers who form the backbone of the music industry and ecosystem”, tweeted TaFMA.

The scholarship is a three-month intensive capacity building programme for music educators and music producers/ engineers at Dr. AR Rahman’s KM Music Conservatory, Chennai. TaFMA informed that the course is suited for early or mid-career music teachers or producers/ engineers to get professional assistance and guidance on professional development.

Music educators from TaFMA empanelled music institutions and producers/ engineers empanelled with TaFMA could apply for the scholarship. The required qualification criteria for applying the scholarship as music educator is degree/ diploma in Music theory and teaching experience of two years, while for producers/ engineers is degree/diploma in music production and two years or more experience in music production field .

It informed that the scholarship would cover tuition fees, basic accommodation and a monthly allowance of INR 20,000 per person for food and other domestic needs including the cost of air travel.

Meanwhile, TaFMA informed interested persons to submit applications with complete bio data along with testimonials, contact details and a short covering letter describing intentions for wanting to be a part of the programme. Interested persons are asked to submit an application through email on tafma2019@gmail.com on or before April 17 for consideration and selection.
