Sukhato village lifts AAYF volleyball championship

DIMAPUR — Ato Area Youth Front (AAYF) under the aegis of Western Sumi Youth Front (WSYF) organised a one-day volleyball tournament at Hozukhe village on October 28 with the village chief of Ghokuto village and advisor to WSKH, G Shikavi Zhimomi, as the chief guest on the theme "Unity is strength."

An update from the organisation stated Sukhato village emerged as the champion, while Ghokuto village won the 1st runners-up prize.

The best player was awarded to Panato from Sukhato village, while the best spiker award was given to Kivi Zhimomi from Ghokuto village and the best setter award was given to Bejna from Sukhato village.

Speaking at the inaugural programme, G Shikavi Zhimomi encouraged the youth to take interest in sports and build career on professional line. He also spoke about the important role of sports in uniting people.

He further spoke about the mushrooming of substances abuse and use of alcohol among the youth and stressed the need to monitor and prevent.
