For the past three years, jewelry designer Nzano Odyuo has been creating beautiful one of a kind earrings under her label ‘LORENZAS’.
Without any formal education in the art, Nzano fell in love with the art of designing with beads overnight when some jewelry making materials online caught her attention.
Her passion has now led her to a full time job as a jewelry designer and Nzano is enjoying every minute of it.
Here is a peek into Nzano’s world of beads and design.
EASTERN MIRROR: What first pushed you into designing jewelry?
Nzano Odyuo: It actually happened overnight....one night as I was surfing the net I came across a website which sells materials for making jewelry. I instantly ordered them and within a week, I was designing earrings.
EASTERN MIRROR: Tell us about your design style.
Nzano Odyuo: My design style is very versatile...in the sense you can wear it as formal and casual as well.
EASTERN MIRROR: As a jewelry designer, where do you draw your inspiration from?
Nzano Odyuo: Every piece of jewelry I make inspires me to make the next one. It’s a never ending process.
EASTERN MIRROR: What is the favorite piece you’ve ever created and what makes it so special?
Nzano Odyuo: I cannot pick one from the other. All are my favorites....hahaha.
EASTERN MIRROR: What would you like to try your hands on that you haven’t so far?
Nzano Odyuo: Every now and then, I get suggestions from my valued customers to start making a necklace. So, I’d like to try my hands on neckpieces.
EASTERN MIRROR: What jewelry do you think can be multipurpose and will never go out of style?
Nzano Odyuo: I’d say earrings!! !
