Kohima, Feb.14 (EMN): Joint secretary of Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, Mercy Epao on Monday asserted that technology is a powerful tool and should be used for change and to help mould a person.
She urged the student to develop disruptive and critical thinking habit to enable oneself to push forward and discover one’s ability and potential.
Epao was speaking at the platinum jubilee celebration of the Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU), which got underway at Phek town on Monday. The jubilee celebrations will culminate on February 16.
The official told CSU that on reaching the milestone, the union and its members should have a roadmap for the future and also challenged the students to take advantage of the advancement of technology, being in the age of information explosion.
The official also urged the students to dream big but start small, and encouraged the students not to succumb to the circumstances but be determined and persistent in their approach.
Meanwhile, President of Chakhesang Mothers’ Association (CMA) Zhonelii Tiinyi delivered greetings and Angami Students’ Union (ASU) President, Bisevi Nakhro shared solidarity message.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Cola convenor Khosapa Venuh, general secretary report was presented by Avezo Kevin Kapu, General Secretary CSU, special numbers were presented by Kevengoyi Tetseo and Akhrole Keyho.
The session was chaired by CSU former president Vevotso Medeo.
Meanwhile Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will attend the main function as inaugural guest and will unveil the monolith on Tuesday.
Greetings will be shared by Member of Legislative Assembly Kuzholuzo Nienu and jubilee blessing will be pronounced by CSU former president Deo Nukhu.
On the occasion, a solidarity message will be shared by the president of Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), while the president of Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) Vezuhu Keyho will exhort the gathering.
Other highlights of the programme will include presidential address by Vetho Vadeo, president CSU, welcome address by Miitsikhoyo Yhobu convenor, Central Organising Committee.
